Jersey Airport has CT scanners installed to scan all hand baggage. Check what you can take through Security at every airport you are travelling through, as the rules may be different at each airport.

Electronic devices

You can leave one electronic device in your hand baggage to be scanned at security.

If you have more than one large electronic device, leave one in your bag and place any others in a separate tray.

Hand luggage banned items

You should check you’re not carrying any banned items in your hand luggage before going to the airport.

Check our restrictions for hand baggage and hold luggage banned items.

Any items that resemble banned items are not permitted. This includes toy guns, wooden swords, replica and imitation firearms, and perfume or aftershave bottles that resemble grenades or other firearms.

Each airline has its own policy in relation to the size of hand baggage you are permitted to take on board with you. You should check your airline’s website or contact them directly before you travel to avoid additional charges at check-in. Please measure your hand baggage using the baggage gauges provided by the airlines. These are available at check-in before you go to Security.

Security body scanners

Jersey Airport use body scanners to provide additional layer of security. They are a safe screening method for all passengers, including people with pacemakers and people who are pregnant.

If you do not wish to be screened by a security scanner, you will need to be searched by hand instead.

If you are travelling with an insulin pump, you should check insulin pump guidance.

The machines can scan people who are 1 to 2 metres in height. Anyone outside these parameters will need to be searched by hand.

If you have been selected randomly, you will be requested for further screening.
